Clinical Nurse Educator - Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver onboarding and competency programs using evidence-based practices.

• Create orientation and ongoing education plans for licensed and unlicensed staff.

• Foster a positive learning environment and utilize diverse teaching strategies (simulation, mock events, case scenarios).

• Partner with leadership and academic institutions to support education initiatives.

• Serve as mentor, resource, and role model promoting excellence and safety.

• Maintain proficiency in unit-specific skills, EMR systems, and technology tools.

• Ensure compliance with Mercy policies and assist with drills and education on knowledge gaps.

Qualifications

Required:

• BSN with 2 years clinical experience OR ADN with 10 years hospital nursing experience (or 5 years with active RN-to-BSN enrollment).

• Current RN license and AHA BLS certification.

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

• Specialty certification or progress toward certification.

• 2 years teaching experience.

• Additional life support certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.).
