General Purpose

Forge is DaVita's design and innovation partner for how the Village operates - focused on transforming how we manage, prioritize, and execute work across the enterprise. Forge Managers lead high-impact initiatives that reimagine our core operating systems, from workforce planning and scheduling to inventory and operations reviews.

This role blends strategic clarity, design thinking, and operational execution. Managers are responsible for scoping problems, designing experiments, guiding teams, and delivering validated, scalable solutions. They lead through ambiguity with discipline-ensuring that insights become action, and action becomes impact.

Forge Managers are also people leaders. They build strong, focused teams, coach teammates in structured innovation methods, and ensure a shared understanding of purpose, progress, and standards. They collaborate deeply with operational leaders and functional experts, turning complexity into momentum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end project delivery: Lead system development across all Forge innovation phases (Explore Own), from initial discovery through enterprise scale

  • Frame and test system-level problems: Define operating models (roles, rhythms, rules, metrics), pilot MVPs, and iterate solutions based on real usage and outcome signals

  • Drive adoption and impact: Partner with operators and sponsors to embed new systems, build field readiness, and ensure performance is sustained after rollout

  • Conduct structured discovery and validation: Lead user interviews, design assumption tests, and apply DUFV (Desirability, Usability, Feasibility, Viability) to guide decisions

  • Deliver analytically rigorous, insight-driven recommendations: Synthesize data, field observations, and strategic priorities into clear system choices and action plans

  • Engage and influence stakeholders: Represent Forge in Triad meetings, SteerCos, and field forums to align cross-functional partners and secure sponsorship

  • Communicate with clarity and impact: Build decks, memos, and discussion materials tailored to senior executives, operators, and system users

  • Model Forge's cultural values: Actively support team learning, foster psychological safety, and contribute to a high-accountability, high-trust culture

  • Mentor junior teammates: Provide coaching, thought partnership, and developmental feedback to analysts and peers

Education and Experience

  • 4-7 years of relevant experience, including project ownership in consulting, corporate innovation, operations, product, or strategy roles

  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional projects from concept to delivery

  • Experience working with or designing systems that drive frontline behavior change or operational performance

  • Proven ability to simplify complexity, lead structured discovery, and manage fast-paced delivery cycles

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize insights and frame decisions for senior audiences

  • Experience with design thinking, agile, or Lean methodologies preferred

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH) a plus

  • Familiarity with the healthcare or services industry preferred
