Job Summary:

The Public Engagement Strategist II plays a key role in managing and executing public outreach and engagement strategies for projects. This position supports the planning and implementation of communication efforts to engage stakeholders, including the public, government officials, local communities, and other key parties, ensuring that the firm's projects are well-understood and receive broad community support. The strategist will work closely with project teams to provide clear, consistent, and transparent messaging throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute public engagement strategies tailored to the needs of each project, including meetings, community events, informational sessions, and digital engagement platforms.

* Work with the project team to Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local government officials, residents, businesses, community organizations, and other relevant parties.

* Prepare clear, concise, and engaging content for a variety of communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, social media posts, FAQs, and project updates.

* Coordinate the distribution of communication materials to ensure accurate and effective messaging to all stakeholders.

* Plan and facilitate public meetings, open houses, and workshops to gather input, address concerns, and provide project updates.

* Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure public engagement efforts are aligned with project goals and timelines.

* Track and analyze stakeholder feedback and engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of public outreach efforts

* Act as a liaison between the public and project teams, providing feedback, addressing questions and concerns and engagement outcomes in a professional and timely manner.

* Prepare reports and presentations on engagement activities, highlighting key themes, concerns, and recommendations for action.

* Assist in managing and responding to public concerns or issues that may arise during the course of a project, developing and executing crisis communication plans when necessary.

* Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Qualifications:

* Associate's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Planning, or a related field.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive messages for diverse audiences.

* Experience developing communication and outreach material for a variety of audiences.

* Some knowledge of working with diverse groups of people, including community members, public officials, and professionals.

* Proficiency with digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address stakeholder concerns in a constructive manner.

* Ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and public events, both in-person and virtually.

* Travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Hours and Travel:

This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with travel outside the office as needed depending on project-specific requirements.
