Job Description

RRD is looking for a dynamic and motivated student to join our Digital Transformation Team as an AI Business Analyst Summer Intern!!

**THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION!**

Why this role

Help translate AI from buzzword to business value. You'll map real processes, spot high-impact AI opportunities, and turn them into clear requirements our IT development team can build-without having to write production code yourself.

What you'll do

  • Study and model business processes: run discovery sessions, document current state (swimlanes/BPMN), identify pain points, and propose AI-enabled future states.
  • Analyze AI fit: evaluate when to use LLMs, RAG, classification, summarization, routing, or agents-and when not to.
  • Understand agentic patterns: describe how agents plan, call tools/APIs, use memory, maintain state, and hand off to humans; outline guardrails and escalation paths.
  • Map data for AI use cases: catalog sources, fields, and schemas; define data contracts, lineage, and quality checks; flag PII/PCI/PHI and privacy controls.
  • Write crisp requirements: convert discoveries into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; define non-functional needs (latency, accuracy, observability, cost).
  • Partner with IT development: align on service interfaces, tool access, and testing plans; support POCs, A/B tests, and pilot rollouts.
  • Measure impact: define success metrics (cycle time, deflection, accuracy, CSAT/NPS), build simple dashboards, and report results.
  • Support change & enablement: contribute to runbooks, prompts/playbooks, quick-start guides, and stakeholder updates.

What you'll learn

  • How enterprise processes really work (and break) at scale
  • How agentic systems are designed, evaluated, and governed
  • How to move a use case from idea POC pilot production with measurable ROI

Qualifications
  • Working toward a Bachelor's/Master's in Business, Information Systems, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, CS, or similar.
  • Familiar with core LLM/AI concepts: tokens/context windows, embeddings, vector search, RAG, tool use/functions, agents vs. chains, prompt patterns, and evaluation basics.
  • Comfortable with process mapping (BPMN/UML/swimlanes) and requirements writing (user stories, acceptance criteria).
  • Basic data skills: reading schemas, simple SQL, joining tables, understanding APIs/JSON; able to draft a data dictionary.
  • Strong communicator who can translate between business and technical audiences; organized, curious, and bias-to-action.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) or orchestration (workflows, state machines, events).
  • Experience with prompt engineering and evaluation (hallucination tests, golden sets, rubrics, or offline evals).
  • Hands-on with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau/Looker) and Python for notebooks; basic version control (Git).
  • Awareness of LLM platforms (Azure OpenAI/OpenAI, Bedrock, Vertex), vector DBs (pgvector/FAISS/Pinecone), and observability (Langfuse, Weights & Biases).
  • Understanding of risk & governance: data privacy, security, prompt/PII redaction, model/usage logging, human-in-the-loop.
