About the role:

As a Senior Legal Counsel for Boston Scientific's Urology Division, you will provide practical, sound legal advice and solutions to your business clients under the direction of Managing Counsel. This role is based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and supports franchise business activities in Minnesota and California.

Your experience as a legal generalist will impact a wide range of legal areas including commercial transactions, advertising and promotion, regulatory and quality matters, and health economics and market access (HEMA). You will also support integration and transactional (M&A) initiatives affecting the division. Collaboration is central to this role-you will work closely with other Legal department personnel, including employment, privacy, litigation, compliance, and patent counsel, to provide seamless support to the business.

The Urology business offers innovative solutions to support kidney stone removal, prostate health, erectile restoration, and urinary continence.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include

* Evaluate commercial legal risk and communicate effective risk assessments, including mitigation opportunities and implementation strategies.
* Provide day-to-day legal advice to functions including Marketing, Sales, HEMA, Regulatory, and Quality.
* Review and advise on sales and marketing programs, promotional content, and product literature.
* Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including supply, distribution, consulting, and research contracts.
* Support new business development through due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
* Collaborate with international legal colleagues to support global commercial initiatives.
* Partner with Global Compliance on policies, procedures, and interactions with healthcare providers and patients.
* Develop and deliver legal training to divisional employees.
* Stay current on legislative changes, laws, and regulations impacting the medical device industry.
* Operate as a proactive, self-assured professional with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
* Demonstrate excellent judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
* Take ownership of legal matters and develop creative, actionable solutions.

Required qualifications:

* Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
* Must be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. state
* Minimum of 7 years' experience practicing law
* Expertise in healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries
* Proven ability to provide strategic legal guidance in a regulated, business-driven environment
* Experience counseling cross-functional business teams, including Marketing, Regulatory, and Sales

* Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred qualifications:

* Proficiency with FDA, FTC, and other administrative regulatory bodies
* Demonstrated ability to gain alignment across multiple or global stakeholders
* Strong organization, facilitation, collaboration, and presentation skills
* Ability to synthesize complex data and deliver clear, objective risk assessments
* Working knowledge of U.S. reimbursement frameworks (e.g., CMS, private payers, value-based models)
* Experience advising on payer engagement, health economics data generation, and real-world evidence initiatives
* Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into actionable guidance for HEMA professionals

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com-will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
