As a Security Guard - Mall Patrol Route in Palo Alto, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will interact with customers and staff, delivering excellent customer service while conducting routine patrols. This is a driving position, requiring a valid driver's license in the job state.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual activity, property damage, or maintenance needs within the location.
• Assist with controlling access to restricted areas and monitor entry and exit points as directed.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and observations according to company and client requirements.
• Collaborate with store management and Allied Universal team members to support a secure environment for customers and staff.
• Remain visible and approachable to assist customers with directions and general inquiries when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
