Paint Team Member
Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM-12:00 AM
Pay Range: $25-$30/hour (Based on Experience)
Location: Cudahy
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paint Team Member to join our 2nd shift operations. This role is responsible for properly preparing, priming, and finish painting steel fabrications to precise customer specifications, including required dry film thickness.
Our team produces both repetitive OEM components and one-time custom fabrications. Because many of the parts we manufacture are considered critical components, quality, safety, and attention to detail are essential. The painter serves as the final inspector in our manufacturing process, making this role vital to ensuring product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Mix paints accurately to customer specifications
  • Prime and finish paint steel fabrications efficiently and to required dry film thickness
  • Ensure all parts have been blasted to a minimum SPC-6 finish prior to coating
  • Mask and protect machined surfaces and threaded holes before painting
  • Conduct quality checks to verify coating accuracy and overall workmanship
  • Inspect parts carefully and communicate any concerns regarding welds or fabrication quality
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of painting equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Demonstrate strong attendance, teamwork, and a positive attitude each day
Qualifications
  • Several years of experience painting steel fabrications
  • Knowledge of paint mixing, surface preparation, and coating thickness requirements
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and inspection processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and maintaining equipment properly
