Project Integrator, Drone Manufacturing Plant

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

The Project Integrator will lead the design, planning, and execution of the construction and commissioning of a state-of-the-art small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (sUAS) manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in advanced manufacturing, a deep understanding of the UAV supply chain, and is a certified Lean Six Sigma practitioner. This role will coordinate all aspects of the project, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication, to ensure the facility meets operational, quality, and financial goals.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Project Integrator, Drone Manufacturing Plant: $120,000 - $140,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Project Integrator, Drone Manufacturing Plant Responsibilities Include:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and engineering teams.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Control project budgets, track spending, and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including internal departments (engineering, supply chain, quality) and external partners (architects, contractors, vendors).
  • Establish and manage vendor contracts and procurement for necessary equipment, machinery, and services.
  • Advanced manufacturing and process optimization
  • Integrate advanced manufacturing processes, including automation, robotics, and model-based manufacturing, into the facility's layout and workflow.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) to analyze, design, and improve manufacturing layouts for maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Develop a manufacturing strategy that incorporates continuous improvement practices to reduce waste and improve productivity from the outset.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing engineering operations are validated and comply with internal and external safety and quality standards.
  • UAV supply chain integration
  • Collaborate with supply chain specialists to design an optimized material flow and logistics framework within the new facility.
  • Work with suppliers/other Depots to establish efficient inbound and outbound logistics for complex UAV components, including wire harnesses, RF components, and motors.
  • Incorporate sourcing strategies for critical UAV parts into the facility's operational design, focusing on cost, lead times, and quality.
  • Develop strong relationships with supply chain partners and ensure vendor agreements support long-term production goals.
  • Risk management and reporting
  • Identify potential project obstacles and develop contingency plans to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders, clearly communicating progress, challenges, and any changes to the project scope.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, document lessons learned, and refine processes for future projects.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Project Integrator, Drone Manufacturing Plant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years managing manufacturing or capital projects.
  • Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher (e.g., Black Belt).
  • Demonstrable experience with advanced manufacturing systems, automation, and industrial facility builds.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, particularly in a high-tech or aerospace environment.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, SmartSheet) and ERP systems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Prior experience in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or aerospace industry.
  • Experience with international supply chain logistics and trade compliance.
  • Hands-on experience applying Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on execution and continuous improvement.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
