About the Job

Job Duties:
Special consideration will be given to individuals with expertise using SCNT and transgenic technologies. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and productive team that already has vertically integrated skill sets to produce cloned or chimeric animals.

Responsibilities:
Interface and participate as a member of a dynamic and productive SCNT team using SCNT, in vitro embryonic cultures, gene editing and helping to promote scientific efforts focused on xenotransplantation and analysis of chimeric embryos. Representative publications from the laboratory and the research team include: Das S. et al. Generation of human endothelium in pig embryos deficient in ETV2. Nature Biotechnology. 2020 38(3):297-302 and Maeng G. et al., Humanized skeletal muscle in MYF5/MYOD/MYF6 null pig embryos. Nature Biomed Engineering. 2021 5(8):805-814.
Studies will be undertaken to address the following:

1) SCNT of animal model systems
2) Gene editing
3) In vitro culture analysis of early embryos
4) Molecular biology (RNA/DNA, qPCR, transfections, etc.)
5) Animal studies
6) Morphological analysis

Researcher will be expected to:
-Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research studies
-Train and supervise data collection personnel
-Design, organize, and implement project database
-Analyze data
-Collaborate on reports and publication of findings

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: (Must be documented on application materials)
* M.S. or Ph.D. (Embryology, Molecular Biology, Veterinary Sciences, Reproductive Sciences, or related discipline is preferred)
* Substantial research and publication record
* Outstanding expertise in transgenic technologies, somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) in large animals, and molecular biology required.
* Research experience in SCNT, In vitro fertilization or transgenesis technologies is required.

Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: Depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
