Purpose:

The Field Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that our engineering designs are successfully implemented on-site with precision, safety, and sustainability at the forefront. The Field Engineer applies sound engineering principles and professional judgment to plan and accomplish goals, ensuring that project execution aligns with Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide field-based engineering support throughout project execution, ensuring design integrity, quality, and alignment with project specifications and sustainability objectives.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to identify and resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications, providing recommendations for design adaptation based on field conditions.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and handover phases of projects, ensuring compliance with Worley's safety and environmental standards.
  • Utilize integrated data-centric solutions to enhance project delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of field procedures, ensuring best practices are shared across projects.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and project leadership, providing accurate reports and updates on progress, risks, and solutions.
  • Support junior team members by sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure all work activities align with Worley's core values of safety, sustainability, and technical excellence.

What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Demonstrated experience in field engineering within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.
    • Proven ability to apply engineering knowledge to practical field situations, ensuring compliance with technical standards and procedures.
    • Familiarity with integrated engineering systems, digital tools, and data-centric project delivery.
    • Experience in sustainable project delivery or exposure to renewable or decarbonization-related initiatives is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
    • Intermediate understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to field operations.
    • Ability to identify and solve engineering challenges with innovative, practical solutions.
    • Competence in the use of engineering and design software such as AutoCAD or equivalent tools.
  • Professional Attributes:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.
    • Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities, with the confidence to make technical decisions within established guidelines.
    • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in all aspects of work.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under general supervision.
    • Continuous learning mindset, staying informed on emerging technologies and sustainable engineering practices.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • University degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent trade qualification combined with relevant training and experience.

Preferred:

  • Additional industry certifications or project management training are considered advantageous.
