Position Summary

The Software Engineer I is an exciting entry-level technical position, providing installation, maintenance, and modification of software in support of MultiCare's websites and software development efforts. From application development and performing hands-on coding to developing documentation, this role will offer you dynamic day-to-day work functions.

Responsibilities


  • You will collaborate to ensure seamless system integration across all applications, systems, platforms, and infrastructure withinthe global computing environment
  • You will troubleshoot and resolve system problems
  • You will apply object-oriented programming in C++/Java languages, software development, maintenance and deployment
  • You will see to programming, installing, administering and maintaining Application Server software in UNIX and Windows NT environments
  • You will document development efforts using technical documentation techniques including database design, application design and ongoing documentation of changes and modifications
  • You will use Software Quality Assurance (SQA) practices including constructing automated test sequences, unit, iterative, system, user-acceptance and integration testing procedures, error analysis and resolution processes


Requirements


  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field business, healthcare, or Information Technology
  • Additional specific recent Information Technology or healthcare experience may be substituted year for year for education
  • Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $77,314.00 - $106,766.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
