Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing functions as authorized under the direct supervision of a vascular ultrasound technologist.
  • In addition, performs vascular ultrasound studies to include patient care, reporting patient conditions, circumstances, and maintaining equipment and unit cleanliness.
  • The Clinical Intern must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
  • Conditions: May be required to work irregular schedules. Potential exposure to hazardous materials/situations, including but not limited to, blood-borne pathogens, ionizing radiation, and communicable diseases.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in the Amarillo College General Sonography Program.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited General Sonography program with an anticipated program completion within 24 months from the date of hire.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
