The Department of Computer Information Systems and the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science, both of which hold top-10 rankings, and Robinson's Marketing Department ranks 4th in Modeling and Quantitative Analysis for scholarly research productivity. Robinson has active research programs in information technology management, predictive risk analytics, marketing analytics, and health IT analytics that are relevant to this position. The college is one of the first U.S. business schools to operate a FinTech Laboratory. Additionally, RCB serves as the host institution for the University System of Georgia's FinTech Academy, which connects the growing Georgia FinTech business community with academic institutions to develop future leaders in the sector through innovative educational programs. Within the Robinson College of Business, the Institute for Insight is seeking an experienced Research Associate II in analytics. This position will serve as a resource:

1. to develop analytics- and AI-related projects, with examples including:

a) maintain and enhance the existing Accounting Tutor for undergraduate students by improving functionality, ensuring a user-friendly interface, and enabling easy and reliable access.

b) develop additional AI-based solutions to support analytics students and other students across the college and the university.

c) manage and contribute to external, sprint-based AI projects in collaboration with MSA students.

d) conduct AI-related research to continuously expand technical expertise and domain knowledge.

2. To support students' learning in coursework and projects using the in-house computer cluster. In particular, the personnel will:

a) monitor the cluster hardware and diagnose, maintain, and repair faulty components as needed.

b) install, configure, and manage required software for the cluster, including Python, R, Spark, GitHub, and related tools; monitor GPU utilization and allocate computing resources efficiently across users.

c) create and manage user accounts for faculty and students; troubleshoot user issues; and design and deliver documentation, training sessions, and bootcamps to instruct users on effective utilization of GPU and cluster resources.

Resources and Facilities:

The Institute for Insight is equipped with a computer cluster that includes multiple GPUs, designed for big data analytics for both structured and unstructured data, such as text, images, and videos. Additionally, there are individual machines available, each with high-performance GPU cards for enhanced processing capabilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree and 1 year of related experience. It is expected that the candidate will have extensive knowledge of general health policy and qualitative and quantitative research skills.
