JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction, supports projects targeting sepsis, and omics approaches to disease processes and vaccine science. Additional responsibilities will be developing and running in vivo disease models to establish targets for sepsis treatment in these preclinical studies. Collaborates with sepsis and vaccine scientists associated with the lab.

A research scientist in the McCommis lab will conduct independent research, support the principal investigator by performing lab management (assisting with compliance and ordering) and by providing training to laboratory students, and will be involved in all aspects of research from designing experiments, analyzing data, and disseminating work through abstracts and manuscript publications.

Applicant should have experience in both animal (rodent) models and tissue culture, along with basicwet lab techniques.

Applicant should hold a PhD or similar doctoral degree along with additional years of laboratory experience such as postdoctoral fellowship.
