The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Bed Board Associate is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the bedboard system.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge and computer skills

Preferred:

  • 1-year experience Bed Board Associate/Logistics Coordinator and/or Patient Access Position preferred
  • Previous hospital experience in an acute care facility preferred
  • Experience with bed placement processes and systems preferred

Scheduling Requirements

  • Status: Evening (37.5hrs.)
  • Hours: 4:00pm-12:00pm
  • Status: (Must be able to work weekends/holidays)

Essential Functions:

  • The Bed Board Associate is responsible for placing patients in the appropriate bed and maintaining the accuracy of the bedboard system.
  • The Bed Board Associate is responsible for tracking bed assignments through a bed tracking system and to ensure timely and appropriate movement of patients within the hospital.
  • The Bed Board Associate is expected to complete all admissions, transfers, discharges and other service level changes in a timely manner and work closely with clinical staff to obtain correct and timely orders and ensure accuracy of the patient's level of care.
  • The Bed Board Associate is also responsible for verifying and reconciling the hospital census and distribution of the census to the appropriate clinical and operational staff,
  • The Bed Board Associate works in conjunction with the clinical leadership in the facilitation of continuous patient throughput from all points of entry and internal transfer,
  • The Bed Board Associate performs all job duties in a professional and courteous manner and demonstrates positive and appropriate skills with internal and external customers,
  • The Bed Board Associate must possess the ability to work with others and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff physicians and visitors,
