Clinical Ventilation Specialist - (4 field-based positions available)

Job Summary:

Provide product and clinical pre-sale and post-sale support to external and internal customers on all products within the Mindray ventilator portfolio. This includes product installations, in-service training during clinical evaluations, follow-up training visits, and/or troubleshooting on the phone with customers and Mindray technical support personnel.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assists sales in customer presale process by presenting the clinical applications corresponding with customer-based solutions, focused on bridging the gap between the sales process and the clinical application.
  1. Conducts on-site evaluations and clinical trials to assess customer needs.
  1. Conducts in-servicing for the full line of life support products by identifying customer needs and setting/ supporting the training schedule and agenda to accommodate those customer needs.
  1. Conduct onsite hospital workflow and inventory assessment.
  1. Conduct ongoing communication with sales representatives, sales management, customers, and other disciplines to insure ongoing clinical support in the hospital based selling solution process.
  1. Provides installation and transfer support by assisting the CARE and sales teams with solution set up into the critical care departments with the support from hospital staff.
  1. Provides troubleshooting to accounts by visiting the account to identify critical issues and works to find solutions to those issues. Acts as a liaison between the customer and Mindray NA teams like Technical Support, Service, Engineering and Product Management to find answers to customer specific clinical application questions.
  1. Develop product configuration roadmap / implementation plans with sales and the customer to ensure the customer investment objectives are satisfied.
  1. Attend trade shows, local and regional sales meetings to maintain communication with internal and external Mindray customers to maintain focus on clinical solutions.
  1. Expected to contribute to the overall sales effectiveness / revenue generation with accountability to the annual team quota for all products supported by the Critical Care Sales team.
Decision-Making Authority:
  • Person must be able to independently assess product requirements and presentation needs for a diversified customer base.
  • This position works independently in the field and makes decisions regarding presale process, needs of the customer, and time and territory management decisions to meet those needs.
Position Specifications:

1. Knowledge/Educational Requirements

  • RT, clinical degree preferred.
  • 2+ years clinical sales experience in the ventilation environment
  • 4+ years clinical respiratory therapy and / or nursing experience in the hospital critical care environment
  • Knowledge of ventilation applications in the critical care environment
  • Pediatric/NICU clinical experience is a plus

2. Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal communication skills and presentation skills to provide sales presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with many levels of marketing, sales, and engineering personnel at the divisional or corporate level as well as with all levels of hospital personnel including clinical, administrative, and clinical engineering / technicians.
  • Technical capability to understand all products and a clinical understanding of the application of these products in all applicable clinical settings.
  • Flexible to change schedules and must demonstrate a good work ethic to provide adequate instruction of products in a timely fashion.
  • Independent and self-motivated such that they can act without constant supervision.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and Salesforce application

3. Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Must be able to travel 75-80% with 3-4 overnights a week
  • Must be able to stand and speak in front of a group for periods of 2-3 hours, several times a day either in a hospital or other training locations including Mindray facilities.
  • Routinely move ventilation equipment, up to fifty (50) pounds, throughout the hospital
  • Must be located within forty (40) miles from a major airport.
