Position Title: Packaging Associate
Wage: $15-$18.60/hour Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Weekend Hours: 7am-3pm Monday-Friday + OT as Needed, 3pm-11pm Monday-Friday + OT as Needed, 9pm-7am Monday-Thursday + OT as Needed, 7am-7pm Friday-Sunday + OT as Needed, 7pm-7am Friday-Sunday + OT as Needed We are hiring a Packaging Associate in Rockford, IL. Be part of a reliable production team packaging prescription and over-the-counter medications. As a Packer, you'll assemble, inspect, and prepare products for shipment while following strict safety and quality standards. Ideal for detail-oriented team players seeking steady work in a structured manufacturing environment. Packaging Associate Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Package products according to SOP's (Standard Operating Procedure), WP's (Work Process) and batch record specifications in preparation for shipping. Typical tasks include, but are not limited to assembling components, loading machines, constructing boxes, taping, labeling, removing damaged shippers, palletizing, maneuvers pallets using a pallet jack, performs product changeover duties. - Ensure the quality compliance of the products being packed by inspecting for defects such as legible and accurate codes, effective seals, appropriate quantity, etc., in order to ensure all specifications are met. - Remove defective products into the proper location for rework or disposal. - Alert appropriate personnel to any potential quality issues discovered and stops the line, as needed, until further direction is received. - Rotate through all packing functions and perform at expected levels. - Complete cleaning functions including responsibilities during line clearances, cleaning equipment and areas, and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain method) around the plants to ensure a safe, organized work environment. - Follow all company and facility safety policies, procedures and guidelines. Handle hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety gear. Immediately report potentially hazardous situations or conditions. - Accurately complete required cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and/or other paperwork in a legible manner including signing the roster, scanning work order with badge number, production documentation. Verify and review for accuracy as required. - Support and expected to work as a team player as a Packer. - Assist in coaching and mentoring employees and temporary staff members to new Packer role. - This position may require overtime and/or weekend work. - Knowledge of and adherence to all company, cGMP, and GCP (Good Clinical Practices) policies, procedures, rules. - Attendance to work is an essential function of this position Packaging Associate Requirements: - TABE (Test for Adult Basic Education) testing requirements met at approved grade level for position. - Basic mathematical skills. - Limited working proficiency: The ability to satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements. The ability to read simple prose, in a form equivalent to typescript or printing, on subjects within a familiar context. - Basic reasoning: The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions. The ability to deal with problems that involve only a few concrete variables in standardize situations. - Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction. - Ability to work independently and/or part of a team. - Ability to adapt to changing work environments. - Ability to demonstrate attention to detail. - Stationary position: 3/4 of the day and up. - Move, traverse: 3/4 of the day and up. - Operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, or place: 3/4 of the day and up. - Install, place, adjust, apply, measure, use, or signal: 3/4 of the day and up. - Ascend/descend or work atop: from 1/2 to 3/4 of the day. - Position self (to) or move (about or to): 3/4 of the day and up. - Communicate or exchange information: from 1/2 to 3/4 of the day. - Detect, distinguish, or determine: from 1/2 to 3/4 of the day. - On an average day, can expect to move and/or transport up to 25 pounds. - This position has the following special vision requirements including close vision, color vision, ability to focus. - Work is performed in areas with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear for 3/4 of the day and up. - Work near moving mechanical parts for 3/4 of the day and up. - The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
