CNC Machinist Requirements: What It Takes to Get on the Floor

• Machinist II-III experience (CNC-focused; aerospace a plus)
• Strong blueprint reading and tolerancing skills
• Comfortable working independently on 2nd shift
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and quality-driven
• Passion for machining and eagerness to keep learning and improving
• Team-minded with a "take ownership" mentality

What You'll Be Doing Every Shift

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes (3- and 4-axis)
• Read and interpret 2D blueprints, GD&T, and job travelers
• Perform tool changes, workholding setup, and minor G-code/M-code edits
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools; maintain quality throughout the process
• Execute jobs independently from setup through completion
• Perform deburring, documentation, and basic machine maintenance
• Communicate issues proactively and know when to pause and ask questions
• Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and lean initiatives
