Summary:

MaineHealth, the largest integrated health system in northern New England, is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Director of Facility Design & Construction. Under the leadership and general direction of the MaineHealth Vice President of Facilities Management, the Sr. Director will lead a department responsible for systemwide planning, design, and execution of capital projects. This role is responsible for overseeing facility planning, construction project management, space planning, interior design, and move coordination across the MaineHealth network. The Senior Director will ensure alignment with organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices while fostering collaboration across departments and facilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education:Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field (Master's preferred) with 15+ years related experience.
  2. License/Certifications: Professional licensure such as PE, AIA or certification such as CHFM, PMP preferred
  3. Experience: Proven leadership in managing large-scale capital projects in a complex, multi-site environment
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Strong knowledge of building codes, healthcare regulations, and construction practices
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
