We are hiring a full-time staff associate to assist our team in an ongoing study of exceptional longevity. Under the supervision of the PI, the staff associate will work with a team of two other staff associates, and the study program manager. Each staff associate will be involved with all of components of the research visit from recruitment to data entry and quality assurance.

This position will primarily involve:




  1. Recruiting new study participants



  2. Scheduling and administering in-person research visits conducted in participants' homes



  3. Entering and managing collected study data




Staff Associates will also attend regular meetings with study investigators and will have opportunities to participate in scholarly activities, including the preparation of scientific posters and manuscripts.

This is a salaried position that requires scheduling flexibility and mandatory travel. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Recruitment



  • Staff associates will be responsible for recruitment of new participants. This can involve some travel to community events.


Scheduling/Visits



  • Each staff associate will be responsible for planning the visit including arranging individual travel (if applicable - rental car, flight, hotel) preparing and mailing pre and post visit documents. In-person research visits are typically 3-5 hours long and will require local (i.e., within New York City and surrounding metro areas) travel averaging 1-2 times a week. There is the possibility of long distance travel (e.g., within the continental United States) averaging less than once a month and will subsequently require either car rental/rideshare or flights/hotels. Alternatively, the staff associate will perform a limited, remote study visit via telephone (i.e., completing questionnaires, administering protocol-related measures). Visits include a wide range of assessments such as carotid ultrasound, cognitive testing, spirometry, phlebotomy, and physical function.


Data Management/Entry



  • The staff associate will be responsible for the scoring, filing, and organization of study data. This position will require entering data collected during phone evaluations and in-person examinations, and other ongoing study components into REDCap databases. All staff associates will partake in performing quality control (QC) checks on entered data and completing respective QC projects assigned by the data management site.


Requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
