WebMD, an Internet Brands company, is seeking a talented, business minded attorney with 4+ years of corporate and commercial experience to join its highly collaborative legal team. The position is a generalist role with exposure to multiple practice areas and business lines and will provide the attorney with the opportunity to work with newly acquired companies in a dynamic growth environment. The successful candidate will have general corporate legal experience, specializing in commercial contracts. The candidate must be confident, curious, proactive, and business-minded, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects in support of a high-growth business.
This position is hybrid at our Newark, NJ headquarters.

The WebMD Health Network includes WebMD, Medscape, and PulsePoint.

Core Areas of Responsibility:
In partnership with business line leaders, other corporate functions and legal team members:
Serve as day-to-day legal and compliance support for PulsePoint.
Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including advertising technology contracts, data licensing agreements, and software and technology agreements.
Work with multiple internal teams, including product, sales, and data, to advise on legal issues and risks relevant to WebMD's and PulsePoint's business, including digital advertising.
Provide legal counsel and guidance on a broad range of compliance, privacy, and regulatory matters.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
:
JD or equivalent with license in good standing to practice law in NY or NJ required.
Minimum 4 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal setting working on a variety of sophisticated corporate matters.
Previous experience with drafting and negotiating commercial contracts required.
Knowledge of digital advertising, media and advertising technology preferred and highly recommended for this role, but most important is an interest in learning these areas.
Knowledge of U.S. and international privacy and data protection laws and regulations strongly preferred.
Demonstrates strong business judgment and discernment.
Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to think strategically and provide business-practical legal advice and solutions.
Ability to balance competing priorities in a high-volume work environment.
Ability to work proactively and independently.
We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the compensation for this role to have a range that starts at ~$150,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply. | |
