We are setting the standard that will continue to transform and revolutionize the EV fast charging industry and commercial energy storage The Tooling, Process & Training team is responsible for developing the hardware and processes used during service & commissioning. This skilled and motivated individual will keep pushing this evolving energy industry forward by collaborating with engineers, leading manufacturing of local service driven hardware, and deploying vertically designed mobile battery units in areas of need.
What You'll Do
- Design and construct electrical panels, including wiring diagrams, harness assembly, specification and integration of off-the-shelf components, and related systems to support high-performance energy solutions
- Own end-to-end hardware manufacturing processes, from ordering components and fabricating custom elements (e.g., cables and PCBAs) to building, assembling, quality control, and shipping to deployment sites
- Document design feedback meticulously on both electrical and mechanical aspects, ensuring continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- Manage connectors, crimping, and wire harnesses, including building, routing, and seamless integration into complex assemblies
- Optimize manufacturing layouts and processes to maximize efficiency, achieving more output with minimal space and resources
- Lead surge builds during high-demand periods, coordinating parts, space, and team resources to rapidly produce and deploy products in emergent situations
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including program management, field support, customers, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), technical publications, service engineering, and product design teams
- Develop comprehensive documentation and procedures for teams in manufacturing and application engineering environments, promoting safe, scalable, and efficient practices
What You'll Bring
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 25% of the time) to commissioning sites, deployments, and Gigafactories, embracing a flexible and global operational mindset
- Hands-on, resourceful problem-solving skills with a scrappy, innovative approach, fueled by a deep passion for renewables, microgrids, and diesel generator replacement technologies
- Strong training and mentoring capabilities, leveraging firsthand experience with Tesla products and tools to impart technical knowledge effectively to teams
- Proven ability to make on-site decisions under dynamic conditions, adapting to unforeseen customer variables such as site layouts, electrical load distributions, and existing circuit protections
- Expertise in creating clear, safe, and efficient documentation tailored for first-time users, ensuring crisp, actionable guidance that minimizes risks and maximizes productivity
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with engineers and technical peers, especially when deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs) or manufacturing documentation occur
- Leadership in achieving world-class build quality for multiple electromechanical assemblies and workspaces, driving precision, efficiency, and excellence in execution

Expected Compensation
$35.15 - $44.84/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
