Job Description: SUMMARY We are looking for full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic for theNew Lock at the Soo Project located in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. Responsible for repairs and maintenance on large construction equipment and strongly versed heavy equipment, from dozer and excavators to trucks and crawler cranes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Diagnosis and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment. * Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes for the safe assembly and disassembly of components. * Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE * Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred * 3- 5 years of experience preferred REQUIREMENTS * Day shift, Monday through Friday 5:30am to 5:30pm, Saturday 5:30am to ~3pm * Must have clean driving record * Basic welding skills desired * Crane knowledge and marine equipment a plus * Desire to take on new challenges CK Construction is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action federal and state contractor.
