Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership by analyzing business processes, applications, architecture, and infrastructure to identify pain points and make recommendations.
  • Analyze systems across business processes, use cases, application, database, and infrastructure.
  • Document current state and build future state architectural roadmaps across all tiers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, stability, capacity, and resiliency of applications, architecture, databases, processes, and infrastructure, including associated costs and risks.
  • Lead in-depth technical discussions with clients, internal and external stakeholders; analyze architecture diagrams, documentation, code, and data.
  • Develop artifacts representing current and future state system architecture, visualization, database, and application layers.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance across all levels of the organization; motivate others to achieve shared aspirations.
  • Coach and mentor other technical associates to ensure growth in technical aptitude and sustainability of desired corporate culture.
  • Participate in rotational on-call schedule, requiring availability outside standard business hours.
  • Oversee work submitted from outside contractors working as software developers and quality engineers (no hire/fire authority).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years in software development with experience upgrading and merging multiple PHP frameworks into the latest framework while building new features in existing solutions.
  • Full lifecycle development using Agile methods, including technical leadership for an Agile team (onshore and offshore).
  • Leading teams with multiple sub-applications operating as a single web and mobile application integrating via multiple API types.
  • Testing complex interfaces across web and mobile applications in multiple coding languages (PHP, React, and other JavaScript languages).
  • At least 3 years of experience in capacity and performance analysis of complex systems.
  • Experience working in heterogeneous environments (Windows.net, Linux/Unix, PHP, MySQL).
  • Project Management and development of project plans across multiple client requests and technical complexities while ensuring application security, scalability, and support.
  • Cross-departmental communication and coordination for all product-related development needs.
  • Experience with physical, virtual, and cloud deployment strategies including blue-green deployments and multiple environments.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) including multi-region and cross-region deployments.
  • Managing multiple deployment versions simultaneously hosted with synchronized code versions.
  • Experience as main point of contact for escalated support calls and consulting on support issues for front-line teams.
  • Experience serving as point engineer for all cloud hosting questions and DevOps-related events.
  • National travel up to 5%.
