Who we are and what we do:

TennCare is Tennessee's managed care Medicaid program that provides health insurance coverage to certain groups of low-income individuals such as pregnant women, children, caretaker relatives of young children, older adults, and adults with physical disabilities. TennCare provides coverage for approximately 1.7 million Tennesseans and operates with an annual budget of approximately $14 billion. It is run by the Division of TennCare with oversight and some funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). TennCare's mission is to improve the lives of Tennesseans by providing high-quality cost-effective care. Job Overview:

The Division of TennCare is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Curriculum Development Director to work in the Compliance and Policy Group within Member Services. This full-time position will report directly to the Member Services Training Administrator. In general, the Curriculum Development Director will be responsible for managing a team of curriculum developers who develop, review, and maintain training materials. This position requires the ability to lead and manage direct reports and contracted personnel, understand and clearly communicate complex policies and procedures, establish and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and adhere to deadlines. This position is part of a hybrid work program; most work is completed remotely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, instructional design, and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research content and collaborate with subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and develop curriculum content in a remote learning environment.
  2. Manage a team to design, develop, or revise instructional materials, including facilitator guides, activities, assessments, and multimedia resources to promote best practices in the classroom and remote learning.
  3. Oversee the evaluation and revision of curriculum materials based on feedback and assessment data, ensuring materials adhere to program standards and guidelines.
  4. Demonstrate ability to proofread, edit, and produce effective written materials and multimedia presentations in a variety of formats, including e-learning.
  5. Create and implement an outline, curriculum development plan, lesson development plan, and instructional development plan.
  6. Stay current on best practices in curriculum development and educational technologies to utilize various learning methods that support best practices for the adult learner.
  7. Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  8. Direct the incorporation of a variety of activities that engage and encourage participation.
  9. Review learning assessments to ensure they effectively measure learning outcomes.
  10. Supervise curriculum modification to improve Kirkpatrick's levels 1, 2, and 3 results.
  11. Adapt to learning new processes, procedures, and software as indicated by the department's and the organization's needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to three years of full-time professional closely related program work and one year of training, or related work with a state institutional program or private agency that includes training duties.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in one of the above areas may be substituted for the required non-specialized experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.

OR

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.
