The USC Iovine and Young Academy is seeking a Digital Fabrication Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. We foster innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning in a cutting-edge academic environment. This role provides technical expertise in the implementation and operation of equipment within the student makerspaces. This is a benefits-eligible position with a regular work schedule of 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday, and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. Please note that, depending on business needs, the schedule may shift to a Wednesday through Sunday work week at various times during the academic year. The Lab Technician will report to the Senior Facilities and Operations Manager and play a key role in supporting advanced classroom and makerspace environments. These spaces include technologies such as electronics, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and other fabrication tools. The successful candidate will assist faculty, students, and staff with the setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment and facilities. They will also mentor students working on class projects, providing guidance and technical support to foster hands-on learning and innovation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Experience: 3-5 years in an additive/subtractive fabrication role or setting including the use of specialized classroom and maker space technologies and equipment (e.g. 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, etc.).

The hourly rate range for this position is $26.50 - $29.00.
