JOB DESCRIPTION USC Athletics is looking to hire a Director of Athletics Security and Emergency Operations to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for ensuring the overall safety and security of the USC Athletic Department, Events and Facilities. This also includes site security for team activities (practices, games, and travel). This role involves developing and implementing emergency operation plans and security protocols, managing security personnel, and coordinating with local law enforcement and venue security teams. Knowledge of and experience working in higher education preferred. Understanding of the unique culture and needs of college athletes preferred. This position serves a large student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for a variety of populations, and is expected to contribute to the program's demonstrated commitment to non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all. Salary Range The annual base salary for this position is $77,500. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Addtional Education Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 3 years Minimum Skills: Three years of intercollegiate athletic experience at the Division I level. Knowledge of, and compliance with, NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations. Knowledge of event scheduling methods, facility use agreements and event planning process. Ability to make quick, rational decisions. Ability to work with and exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the heterogeneous racial, ethnic, disabled, sexual orientation and cultural populations of community college students. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, demonstrating advanced writing skills. Demonstrable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
