Overview

Summary

The Field Service Technician provides repair and maintenance support for telecommunication systems, including performing moves, add and changes (MAC). This individual will report onsite daily at the customer's facility to ensure reliable operations of voice infrastructure. This position requires strong interpersonal skills to deliver exemplary customer service. This individual must be technically adept and able to use logic and decision-making to effectively troubleshoot problems.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions

    Provide onsite technical support for the customer's phone systems, including configuration, testing, and maintenance.
  • Performs software and firmware updates to system processors, system circuit packs, IP stations, and associated equipment.
  • Perform routine adds, moves, and changes (MACs) to telephony equipment and user profiles.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems related to the phone system.
  • Collaborate with customer IT staff and vendor support teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, system changes, and support activities.
  • Provide end-user support and training as needed on phone system features and functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with customer policies, security requirements, and operational standards.
  • Provides support and assistance whenever called upon, including after-hours work when required.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active Dept of Energy Q Clearance or DoD Top Secret
  • UC Certifications
  • Three or more years of experience in the maintenance of UC Systems
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN - Route/Switch technologies and protocols that support VoIP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Excel
  • Requires a valid driver's license
  • Desired/Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment to get the job done
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Sec+ or equivalent network security certification
  • UC Certifications in Voice Specialization
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as appropriate judgment, independence, and discretion.
