Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Quality
Technician oversees, applies and maintains the Quality Assurance systems and
procedures to ensure that customer receive products that meets or exceed
their quality requirements. The Quality Technician ensures that all incoming and
outgoing products maintain the quality standards of Rieke. Represents a key
role in overseeing the processes of production.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Perform
a variety of quality control tests on products at various stages of the
production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability
standards.
Responsible
for constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory
equipment. (Vacuum chamber, torque meters, force measurements and
measurement equipment.
Responsible
for all new and existing product testing.
Performs
full Design Verification Plan and Report testing (DVP&R)
Keeps
up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save
time and improve reliability.
Provides
customer support, including line trials, site testing and quality
notifications.
Ensures
all laboratory equipment is kept calibrated and fit for purpose.
Trains
all new machine operators based on the Operator Training Checklist.
Records
statistical data.
Analyzes
data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing
standards (knowledge of statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, Excel
Pivot Tables preferred).
Identifies
gaps to the quality management system and recommends modifications to
existing, or suggests new standards, methods or procedures.
Enables
effective communications between management and operators.
Performs LPA and ISO audits.
Qualifications
Qualifications and
Skills:
Experience
providing Quality Systems training to employees.
Proficiency
in MS Word, Excel, QA application and general math.
Familiarity
with gauge/inspection process.
Strong
communication skills; verbal and written.
Strong
problem solving and analytical skills.(Green Belt, CAPA)
Ability
to communicate with all levels of the plant to include mentoring,
training, and root cause analysis.
3 years experience in Quality management
systems with working knowledge of statistical process controls,
preferably in the plastics industry.
Knowledge of good manufacturing
practices.
Experience in manufacturing or
Industrial environments with high volume, fast moving consumer goods.
Excels in process, product and system audits.
Technical writing experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and taking initiative.
