Medical Billing Specialist $23.00/hour \| Monday-Friday \| 1st Shift \| Little Falls, MN A trusted mental health organization in Little Falls, MN is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support insurance billing, claims follow-up, and payment posting. This is a weekday, first-shift opportunity ideal for someone with healthcare or medical billing experience who enjoys accuracy, organization, and meaningful work. This is a temporary role (8-12+ weeks) with the potential for extension based on business needs. Schedule & Pay Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Shift: 1st Shift Employment Type: Temporary Key Responsibilities Review, follow up on, and resolve insurance claims, denials, and rejections Research billing discrepancies and submit appeals as needed Post insurance and client payments accurately in the EHR system Respond to client billing questions with professionalism and care Audit insurance plans, payment rates, and remittance details for accuracy Prepare billing reports and support daily reconciliation and balancing Monitor collections and coordinate with collection agencies when required Maintain accurate records and protect patient confidentiality Collaborate with internal teams to improve billing and revenue cycle processes Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Associate degree in Medical Billing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred 2+ years of experience in medical billing, healthcare finance, or related role Mental health or behavioral health billing experience preferred Working knowledge of EHR systems, insurance claims, and payment posting Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Why You'll Like This Job Consistent weekday schedule - no nights or weekends Competitive hourly pay Meaningful work supporting mental health services Supportive, mission-driven work environment Benefits through Staffmark, including: Weekly pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) Short-term disability Employee discounts Free career and staffing support Apply Today If you have medical billing experience and want a reliable weekday role supporting a respected mental health organization, apply now.
