  • Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/weekly, Monday through Friday, hours between 7:00AM - 5:00PM

The Oncology and Infusion Center at Reliant Medical Group is a growing and expanding area within Reliant Medical Group. This position facilitates the safe, high-quality, effective and economic use of Oncology & Infusion drugs. The position will work collaboratively with the center's management team on program development, and operational oversight including compliance with local, state and national regulatory guidelines for handling hazardous drugs and compounding sterile injectables.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing quality pharmaceutical care to all ambulatory care patients of Reliant Medical Group. This includes all aspects of therapeutic selection, implementation, monitoring, modification and dispensing of drug therapy - with appropriate documentation and communication.
  • Supervises technical staff in the preparation of intravenous admixture solutions and chemotherapeutic agents, using acceptable aseptic technique and in compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g. USP, USP).
  • Responsible for the Designated Person roles and responsibilities as outlined in USP and USP for the Oncology Infusion Center.
  • Ensures compliance with USP chapters, federal and state regulations, and department policies and SOPs, and escalates concerns to management.
  • Coordinates the on-site onboarding and training and orientation of new staff members and ensures proper documentation.
  • Ensures compliance with ongoing training, competencies, and development and ensures proper documentation
  • Identifies areas of opportunity for process improvement and presents proposed solutions to infusion pharmacy leadership.
  • Supports the development and implementation of efficient workflows within the pharmacy
  • Plans, implements and evaluates the assigned staffing needs on a daily basis to adequately support patient care.
  • Assigns staff based upon patient needs, practice volume, staff qualifications and department policy.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work effectively and communicate frequently with all members of the patient care and administrative team; orchestrates and actively participates in daily huddles to promote effective communication with staff, providers and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Recommends appropriate pharmaceutical prescription based on patient parameters and interpretation of current literature, safety, efficacy and cost.
  • Contacts the prescriber, as appropriate, to clarify orders and/or make recommendations concerning alternate therapies.
  • Provides pharmacotherapy support to providers and staff. Conduct primary review of pharmacotherapy plans to ensure therapy plans are in accordance with current evidence-based literature and recommendations.
  • Responsible for documenting drug information questions, drug utilization evaluation activities and adverse drug reactions.
  • Assists in the process for review and evaluation of treatment options and promotes the adherence to the RMG Drug Formulary as approved.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy

  • Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent practice experience

  • Valid Massachusetts Registered Pharmacist license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PharmD degree
  • Board certified in Sterile Compounding or Oncology Pharmacy
  • 4+ years of Oncology practice experience

Physical Requirement:

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
