We are currently looking for an Inventory Control Associate to join our growing team!

Independently coordinate and perform advanced activities related to procuring, controlling, and maintaining accurate records of laboratory materials, equipment, and supplies. The Inventory Control Specialist II applies sound judgment to resolve discrepancies, supports cost control initiatives, and serves as a subject matter resource for inventory-related processes.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble, maintain, and audit detailed records of quantity, type, value, and usage of materials, equipment, and supplies held in inventory
  • Perform and oversee routine and cycle counts; reconcile physical counts to system records and resolve variances independently
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Verify clerical and system computations against physical inventory; adjust errors and document findings in accordance with company procedures
  • Compile, analyze, and report data related to receipt, issuance, consumption, pricing, and valuation of inventory
  • Prepare and present inventory reports including balances, shortages, usage trends, and cost variances
  • Inspect unacceptable or nonconforming goods, determine root cause, coordinate with vendors or internal teams, and recommend corrective actions
  • Review purchase documents and vendor invoices to ensure alignment with quoted pricing, quality requirements, and purchase requisitions; resolve discrepancies within established authority
  • Maintain effective communication with laboratory staff, procurement, finance, and other internal stakeholders
  • Perform administrative and accounting-related inventory functions with minimal supervision
  • Research, evaluate, and compare costs, quality, and suitability of new inventory items; provide recommendations to lab and/or corporate management
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives including par levels, reorder points, and stock rotation
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and compliance of all inventory storage areas in accordance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Assist in prioritizing workload and schedules to meet individual and team objectives; participate actively in team initiatives
  • Serve as a resource to Inventory Control Specialist I staff by providing guidance on procedures, systems, and best practices
  • Promote and comply with all safety policies, responsible for personal safety and the safety of others in the work area
  • Complete all required training and maintain knowledge of inventory systems, procedures, and applicable regulations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of inventory management and control experience required
  • Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or regulated environment preferred
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and write correspondence
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Processes proficient computer skills and can use MS Office suite of products

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components
  • Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
  • Noise level varies from quiet to loud
  • Temperature varies from hot to cold
  • Interactive and fast-paced team-oriented tasks
  • Overnight Travel is required at the discretion of management
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
