Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Transportation Engineer in Training to join our dynamic Transportation Team at our Cincinnati office. This position reports to the Roadway Team Leaderand is responsible for performing engineering functions specific to transportation, drainage, and roadway design. Qualified candidates will have 3 years of transportation related experience.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

What You Will Do:




  • Collaborate with Licensed Professionals to support transportation projects.
  • Assist in the design and production of roadway, drainage and transportation planning projects.
  • Utilize various engineering software tools (following training) for design and analysis tasks.
  • Perform calculations and contribute to the development of 3D models.
  • Support cost estimation and funding efforts for multiple projects.
  • Provide assistance to project staff as needed, contributing to diverse and impactful engineering projects.



What You Will Bring:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the transportation industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with civil engineering software applications (Civil 3D, MicroStation, and ORD).
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, or lifting up to 40 pounds

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
