The Spirit of the Position:

The Vice President of University Services is responsible for leading new business development opportunities within university settings, fostering relationships with university clients, and planning for future and existing operations. The role will have a large focus on new business development including sourcing opportunities, acquiring new university accounts, leading transitions and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients within the portfolio. This position will report to the Executive Vice President of Government and University Services and will support the business development efforts of multiple service lines, including Event Services (LAZ Live), Transportation Services, and Healthcare Services within university settings. This position will be part of the national Government and University Services team and will support business development and client retention efforts on a national basis.

Principal Job Duties:


  • Develop and execute strategies to expand the business with university agencies, increase revenue and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Identify, rank, and manage new university prospects and opportunities and then successfully bring them through the sales pipeline to a successful close.
  • Lead the preparation and review of proposals for new university locations and contracts.
  • Support regional business development efforts, which include proposal development, financial underwriting, presentations, and oversight and assistance with location-based transitions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with university clients, partners and vendors.
  • Work with regional offices to evaluate current and future university opportunities and ensure solutions are delivered to support internal and external university client needs.
  • Responsible for the administrative ownership and understanding of university contracts and client relationships.
  • Assist with the development of LAZ's University Service strategic business plan, service line profitability and future direction for the division.
  • Networks throughout the many national and regional associations, leagues, teams, and agencies to develop new relationships and continually maintain and strengthen current relationships/pipeline for strong business growth and retention.
  • Supply financial reports, analyses and consultative reporting both internally to the Executive Team and externally to clients as needed.
  • Monitor, review, and analyze specific growth markets.
  • Assist the operations team with the transition of all new university locations added to the portfolio.
  • Implementation and completion of other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the portfolio's operation.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Travel:


  • 50% of time travelling to locations across the U.S. in pursuit of new business and supporting existing business.

Education:


  • BA/BS Degree required, preferably in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing.

Experience:


  • 10+ years of parking industry experience is required.
  • 5+ years experience managing university operations.
  • 5+ years in a senior management or business development role is preferred.

Skills:


  • Strong personal relationship-building skills required.
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with all levels of the LAZ organization and client organizations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of university operations.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be open to feedback, differing opinions and other points of view.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.
  • Demonstrates the ability to seek improvement.
  • Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
