Salary/Hourly Rate:

Primary Duties

These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Oversee the Accountable Mail/Classified operation of the DoS contract.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of all General Clerk II employees.
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
  • Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund
    operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members, organization officials, and staff members as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work with management to determine staffing requirements, and interview, train new employees.
  • Train or instruct employees in job duties or company policies or arrange for training to be provided.
  • Evaluate employees' job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action.
  • Review records or reports pertaining to activities such as production, payroll, or shipping to verify details, monitor work activities, or evaluate performance.
  • Recruit, interview, and select employees.
  • Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staff.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • 2-3 years of direct experience required.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. Will be subject to a U.S. Government background check/investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Customer service oriented and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work well independently and as a contributing member of a team High level of integrity and personal accountability.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos, labels and numbers.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills, verbal and written skills and ability to accept and follow directions.
  • Basic typing skills; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to define problems and provide solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a high level of performance with limited supervision.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
