Shift: First Shift (6a-2p), with OT periodically

The role of Quality Tech I, under the direction of the CSD Pillar Manager, is crucial in ensuring that the quality standards of products or processes are consistently met or exceeded for both internal and external customers. By employing problem-solving techniques in daily tasks and collaborative team environments, the Quality Tech I plays a key role in upholding these quality expectations. This includes measuring critical product and process variables, documenting findings accurately, and utilizing this information for ongoing improvements. Moreover, if there are challenges in maintaining processes within defined limits or meeting specifications, the Quality Tech I has the authority to halt operations and request assistance, thereby prioritizing quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct required offline testing for products.
  • Ensure all customer feedbacks are completed on time, the root cause is identified and corrective action is implemented.
  • Assist in analyzing all customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement. Involved in corrective action and preventive action processes.
  • Assist in process capability studies as deemed necessary.
  • Assist and/or train plant personnel in the GIQ quality system.
  • Assist in maintaining customer property.
  • Assist in maintaining the process for document control.
  • Document COAs, COCs as required.
  • Participates in customer visits.
  • Defines quality concepts and quality processes, including statistical basics, etc.; applies quality tools; interprets information and data; applies team concepts.
  • Where applicable, support the safety team to organize its work, ensure relevant training and education of the safety team members, ensure the safety management system is established, implemented, maintained, and updated, and report to the organization's top management on the effectiveness and suitability of the safety management system.
  • Must know which measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; understand the concept of standards traceability for M&TE.
  • Understands and applies basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans.
  • Understands and applies various quality audit types and their components, tools, and techniques.
  • Must be able to control nonconforming material.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action plans
  • Ability to calibrate tools and equipment used in quality inspections
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Prepares quality documents to include report outs, traceability, and batch orders.
  • Basic mathematics and statistics knowledge.
  • Must be comfortable providing direction to both leaders and operators on quality standards and issues on the production floor.
  • Background in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
