OVERVIEW:

The Media Lead is responsible for using media to communicate with staff and campers through the planning, creative development, and execution of weekly rewind videos, chapel services, campfire devotions, and other spiritual programming. The objective of the Media Lead is to create slides, manage videos, take weekly photos, and help organize, coordinate, and support the Christian education and devotional aspects of camp.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Use media to support spiritual programming through weekly rewind videos, chapel services, and campfire devotions
  • Coordinate AV setup for chapel and other programs; assist staff with media needs as requested
  • Take high-quality daily photos and videos of camper and staff activities; organize files in designated folders
  • Create weekly video rewinds and multiple social media posts each week
  • Support the planning and delivery of chapel services, campfire devotions, and Jesus Theater performances
  • Provide creative input for interactive learning spaces focused on staff spiritual growth
  • Encourage and support cabin devotions; provide resources and assist with preparation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the chapel, media box, and CE rooms
  • Assist with evening programs, including setup, creative planning, and leading songs
  • Participate in opening/closing day procedures and supervise campers during free time
  • Support Salvation Army badge and enrichment classes as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness in living quarters and report maintenance issues
  • Build relationships with campers and staff, modeling Christ-like behavior and service
  • Actively contribute to the spiritual formation of campers and staff
  • Immediately report any suspected child abuse to the Assistant Camp Director and follow proper procedures
  • Other related duties as required


All staff may be called upon at any time to assist in the total operation of the camp. You are expected to join in all evening programs; absences are excused only through the Assistant Camp Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum 18 years of age (required)
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (required)
  • Camping experience either as a camper or staff (preferred)


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Skills and experience in program leadership and Christian discipleship
  • Understanding of Christian camping and the spiritual growth goals of The Salvation Army's camping program
  • Adequate knowledge of media and technology
  • Ability to teach and engage children and youth ages 8-18
  • Must be of good moral character
  • Must have a personal and growing relationship with the Lord

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push and pull objects and tools
