OVERVIEW:

The Wait Staff serve food during each mealtime to all campers and staff. The objective of the Wait Staff is to work in a team, be courteous and respectful to all campers and camp staff, set up and clean-up all meals and snacks served, and maintain a pleasant atmosphere in the Dining Room.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Meal Setup



  • Prepare tables, chairs, and table settings; ensure condiments and beverages are stocked and presentable
  • Support camper hygiene checks before meals
  • Assist with food service after Meal Grace, including initial servings and "seconds"


Post-Meal Cleanup



  • Clear and organize leftover food, dishware, and utensils; transport and sort for dishwashing
  • Manage waste, recycling, and compost according to camp guidelines
  • Clean and sanitize tables, floors, and food service areas; sweep and mop dining hall, kitchen, storerooms, and restrooms
  • Maintain and properly store all cleaning tools, supplies, and food service items


Additional Duties



  • Prepare, serve, and restock beverages and paper goods
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of food service equipment, counters, and staff dining hall
  • Perform laundry duties and clean camp entrances
  • Monitor and replenish paper supplies in storerooms and dining areas; empty and reline all bins
  • Participate in evening programs, camp-wide activities, and assist with camper bedtime routines


Support opening and closing day procedures as directed by the Assistant Camp Director



  • Maintain personal living quarters to camp cleanliness standards
  • Contribute to campers' and staff's spiritual growth through active involvement and Christ-like example
  • Report any suspected child abuse to the Assistant Camp Director following proper procedures
  • Other related duties as required


All staff may be called upon at any time to assist in the total operation of the camp. You are expected to join in all evening programs; absences are excused only through the Assistant Camp Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum 16 years of age (required)
  • Previous camping experience either as camper or staff (preferred)
  • Experience in food service


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • General skills working with children
  • Ability to maintain a good rapport and communication with other staff members
  • Must be of good moral character
  • Must have personal and growing relationship with the Lord


EQUIPMENT USED:



  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push and pull objects and tools
