The Manager of Distribution and Co-packing will utilize warehousing, delivery, and co packing expertise in a distribution center operation. Lead, develop and motivate a talented team. Leverage extensive technical experience and skills to guide the team in managing all challenges in warehousing and copacking processes, as well as providing strategic plans to manage production efficiently.

The person will use their advanced leadership abilities to motivate and energize teams. By collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will balance team demands and drive exceptional team performance with high performance for the businesses you support.

Responsibilities
  • Direct management of the warehouse and copacking operations.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Responsible for site metrics associated with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Business Improvement Plans, Efficiency Programs, and Profit and Loss (P&L) indices subsequent data analysis to develop reports for interpretation and communication for the customer, and site personnel.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Drives profitability through labor productivity and line efficiencies.
  • Responsible for overseeing team responsible for maintenance of copacking lines
  • Responsible for meeting all quality expectations, both internally and externally
  • Manage production scheduling to meet customer demands and equipment capacities
  • Manage system of daily labor tracking plan vs actual for actual production runs
  • Provide leadership and direction for production plan to align with equipment and overall resource planning
  • Maintain a Safe Quality Food (SQF) compliant facility (secondary food packaging).
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing packaging operations information and recommendations to strategic plans
  • Reviews and prepares any action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried personnel
  • Solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
  • Delivers effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing people impact
  • Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues
  • Controls inventory levels by overseeing physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Oversees processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes (check in/out), and shipping.
  • Administer policies and procedures

The targeted compensation for this position is between $85K - $105K base plus targeted bonus, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Package Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years' experience in distribution or manufacturing operations or a related field required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in warehouse supervisory / management position, required
  • Strong knowledge of copacking and warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Previous working experience within Quality Systems such as AIB, BRC, or SQF preferred
  • Experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Ability to drive results and develop team while creating strong relationships with clients and internal associates
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and associates
  • Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; possess solid judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities and efficiencies in the distribution operations environment
  • This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally
  • This role may require off-shift and weekend work
