Department Summary

The UNT Health Geriatrics team provides comprehensive, patient-centered care focused on the health and well-being of older adults. As part of UNT Health, the clinical practice group delivers integrated primary and specialty services through a collaborative, multidisciplinary care model.

Our team works closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and support staff to address the complex medical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of our patients. The department is committed to delivering high-quality care, supporting clinical education and research, and improving health outcomes across the communities we serve.

Position Overview

This position is primarily responsible for administering and scoring specialized neuropsychological tests designed to assess cognitive function in individuals, providing detailed reports to clinicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning, and potentially contributing to research of cognitive changes, all under the supervision of a licensed neuropsychologist.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Knowledge of psychological and neuropsychological tests, including standardized testing procedures, scoring protocols, and administration manuals.
  • Basic knowledge of knowledge of relevant privacy laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA) related to handling patient information and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Understanding of how to score psychological tests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of testing equipment and computerized systems used for administering and scoring tests.
  • Ability to manage multiple testing sessions efficiently, preparing materials, scheduling appointments, and ensuring tests are conducted on time.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience administering neuropsychological assessments or combination of education and/or experience


Job Duties



  • Administer various neuropsychological tests and document appropriate clinical observations.
  • Serve as liaison between staff and social workers regarding patient care, earning their confidence with reliable follow-through and clear communication.
  • Keep detailed logs of all work-related activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
