POSITION OVERVIEW

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of the Warehouse and Packing Team, consisting of approximately ~30 hourly individuals across all three shifts. The Production Supervisor is responsible for building capability across the platform to develop self-sufficient autonomous teams, drive out process losses by leveraging data and effective problem solving. Buffalo Flour Mill is a Union facility with approximately 80 employees leading the safe, high-quality production of Bakery Flour for North American Food Service.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Direct accountability/frontline leadership for Flour Packing & Warehouse employees - includes scheduling, payroll, interviewing, new hire evaluations, conflict resolution, employee engagement and involvement in Labor Relations
  • Supports and leads capability development of the platform members to identify, measure and drive out losses to deliver targeted line / system results by providing coaching, support, direction and ongoing feedback
  • Start-up, changeover, shutdown timing inspections, and product holds
  • Supports DDS (daily direction setting) process for the platform and supports and coaches DDS for the line, including:
    • Leads human and food safety, and quality initiatives for Flour Warehouse and Packing Operations
  • Ensure data accuracy according to Capacity Analysis rules and help the team leverage this data to identify, prioritize and eliminate losses
  • Own foundational systems and driving SU for the Flour Packaging lines
  • Supports the development of the loss tree and glidepath and leads execution of portions of the 90-Day improvement plan to deliver the results
  • Applies advanced data analysis tools to expose and eliminate losses
  • Leads change management and validation processes for system and process changes
  • Coaches problem solving methodologies to get to root cause
  • Foster an inclusive environment where people work together to solve problems and collaborate across boundaries to share best practices
  • Partner with Engineering organization on capital and product commercialization
  • Able to support Maintenance Lead responsibilities in a short-term absence

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of manufacturing or related experience
  • High school degree
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to drive change
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and decision-making skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in any major
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
  • Good understanding of manufacturing systems
  • Thorough knowledge of GMI (or equivalent) logistics and operations, procedures and information systems (e.g. Blue Yonder, SAP, Maximo, scheduling, planning, MQIS)
  • Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a complex environment
  • Mature approach to challenging situations and environments

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $70100.00 - $105200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
