How will you make a difference to PMI:
PMI is looking for an Executive Communications Specialist II who will be providing strategic and tactical support to increase executive visibility and PMI brand awareness. You will be accountable for proactively identifying and managing opportunities to build PMI executives' presence and PMI strategy while also providing quality supporting material. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure internal processes are optimized, and executive work is amplified.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Independently manage executive speaking engagement and visibility opportunities from beginning to end, including working directly with PMI executives and event staff.
- Create original materials, update existing materials, and provide guidance on supporting materials such as speaking points, strategic messaging, scripts, and visual aids.
- Stay abreast of the Marketing calendars, including thought leadership and product launches, as well as Marketing key initiatives to proactively identify speaking engagement opportunities for executives that drive Marketing goals and overall PMI strategy.
- Maintain oversight and understanding of overall PMI strategy and Marketing key initiatives coupled with news cycles, consumer trends, and cultural insight to provide relevant and appealing guidance and supporting materials to aid executives in their engagements.
- Proactively stay informed about PMI organization-wide happenings, particularly items that directly affect the success of the role, including attending PMI internal events, reading One PMI articles, and engaging with PMI event offerings like PMXPO or Global Summit/Global Summit Series recordings and recaps; identify ways to incorporate into ongoing work.
- Plan and ensure cross-functional executive visibility alignment; look for opportunities to build PMI executive presence by partnering with other Marketing teams for multi-channel amplification.
- Update and maintain Executive Communications engagement tasks and calendars. Ensure coordination and visibility with all other teams managing executive speaking engagements, including, but not limited to, Marketing, CEO and Board executive communications team, Community, and PMI Event Team.
- Monitor incoming speaking support requests, including but not limited to speaking engagement requests (SER) and direct-from executive/executive's team requests, to identify support level based on the engagement's alignment to Marketing goals, PMI strategy, the executive's unique platform, and overall value. Capture relevant details for the team's Monday.com board and alert affected PMI team members.
- Monitor executives' speaking engagements; identify individual strengths and opportunity areas and provide actionable feedback and suggestions for future events.
- Ensure the executive communications repository houses all final engagement materials like PowerPoints, messaging, scripts, etc., is intuitively organized, and is maintained so all materials are up-to-date and relevant to current PMI initiatives. Maintain governance to ensure the materials are being used effectively and appropriately.
- Collect relevant post-event metrics to assess value delivered. Use collected data to inform future activities, track trends, and identify opportunity areas
Role Qualifications:
- BA in internal or external communications, public relations, marketing, or related field
- 3-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or related degree
- Exceptional writing, communication skills, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Experience working with senior-level executives, especially with limited supervision
- Strong understanding of how to represent organization messages and initiatives across a variety of communication channels
- Ability to be up to date on the latest customer behavior, industry, and cultural trends
- Critical thinker with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Analytical thinker with experience in qualitative and qualitative analytics
- Ability to oversee and execute multiple projects
- Strong ability to think creatively
- Experience working in an agile, dynamic, and customer-centric environment
- Proficiency in the business language for PMI (English)
- Travel - Up to 20%
