Team and Culture Description:

We're currently looking for forward thinking students to join our office in Chicago, IL, in the Product Operations group. Our Group is involved in various aspects of the product life cycle; from defining the products to end of life of the product and all in between. You will have a great opportunity to work with some of our best industry experts & experienced team members working day and night with clear focus to improve our products and experiences on a daily basis. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills you gather in school towards day-to-day practical purposes through smartphones & its eco system.


Position Description:

As an intern, you will be a member of the Product Operations/Technical Sales team in the Go-to-Market Organization. The role serves as an Engineer who is responsible for competitive analysis for cell phones, AI user experience in the phone, and researching new features for our apps. This intern will be handling testing and usability of our new state-of-the-art mobile phones.

This internship is an important customer-facing role that has a direct interface with technical teams internally and with customers several times per week. In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, software integration, packaging, and carrier account teams to align with the global strategy of the product.


Scope of Responsibilities:

During your internship at Motorola Mobility, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to various aspects of products:

  • Product definition, design, development, execution and post launch management.
  • Product strategy, data mining, competitive product analysis and research.
  • Product Testing: different types of industrial testing and methods used in certifications.
  • Product Innovations: how AI and machine learning is changing every aspect of product experience.
  • Learning of processes and various tools used in industries.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering (any discipline), computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and out of the box thinking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic programming knowledge and skills using C/C++/Java/scripting languages.
  • Basic knowledge of system design, system engineering, machine learning and AI.
  • Deep understanding of cell phone features, market research, and competitive analysis is a plus.
