Job Description

The Institutional Advisor I supports the Institutional Advisor (IA) team with discretionary investment management of Institutional client portfolios. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, assisting IA's with: implementation and ongoing monitoring of selected investment strategies (strategic & tactical asset allocation, manager/security selection, rebalancing and trade execution, transition management, etc.); monitoring and maintaining compliance with client policies and objectives; preparation of quarterly investment reviews and other client reports; other special projects assigned by IA's.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You'll manage investment portfolios or provide consulting for our institutional clients to develop investment objectives and review accounts and assets regularly and manage their investment return.
  • You'll prepare RFP responses and prepare presentations to prospective clients and consultants and present our institutional advisory services and capabilities.
  • You'll communicate with client boards/committees and administrators regarding their account, investment activity and performance, and capital and marketing economic trends.
  • You'll serve as an investment representative on various committees and special project groups.
  • You'll assist in setting investment strategies for the institutional team and assist in the review and creation of investment policy and procedures.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance and 2-4 years related experience or 8-10 years equivalent experience in financial markets/services.

  • Advanced knowledge of various securities and investment-related products and services (domestic and international stocks, bonds, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, alternative investments, etc.).
  • Thorough knowledge of capital markets and investment management topics, including asset allocation, portfolio optimization, investment strategies and Modern Portfolio Theory.
  • Excellent PC skills, including experience with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Portfolio management experience, including rebalancing and trade execution.
  • Advanced knowledge of investment related statistical reporting, performance measurement and attribution.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work in a team environment
