Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 6 West Medical Surgical unit is a 23-bed unit. We specialize in the treatment of various medical and surgical diagnoses including sepsis, kidney stones and gallstones, GI bleeds, home falls, etc. Our current nurse to patient ratio is approximately 5:1, and have the support of Patient Care Technicians. We are a team-oriented group of professionals and encourage voluntary participation in committees including the Tulip Council, Fall Champion Group, and Shared Governance. • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
