In March 2024, Isometric was acquired by Nissha Medical Technologies (NMT), a global Contract Design/Development Manufacturing Organization. NMT's expertise in the design and development of endoscopic devices, combined with Isometric's micro-molding capabilities, have the potential to redefine the realm of minimally invasive surgical instruments and surgical robotics. Together, we aim to address the changing demands of medical devices by enhancing component miniaturization and improving the maneuverability of small and precision components, ultimately advancing medical efficiency.

It's an exciting time to join our team in New Richmond, WI, and we're hiring for a 1st shift Mold Design Engineer. This role is responsible for developing 3D solid model tooling designs in a manner that maintains the project schedule and quality and produces engineering molds that are designed for ease of manufacturing. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Create 3D solid model tooling designs using Pro Engineer in a manner that maintains the project schedule with no sacrifice to quality of the end product.

  • Design molds, fixtures, and tooling that meets or exceeds customer's specifications.

  • Engineer molds that are designed for ease of manufacturing.

  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing when required.

  • Provide component details when required or requested by manufacturing.

  • Ensure proper level of confidentiality when dealing with customers and suppliers.

  • Adhere to procedures and guidelines as specified in Quality Management System.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Technical associate degree and 5-10 years of experience.

  • 5+ years of experience designing technical molds for the thermoplastics industry.

  • Expert user of solids modeling software, preferably Pro Engineer.

  • Intimate knowledge of best-in-class mold design practices and available technologies.

  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing practices.

  • Analytical problem solving ability, process oriented.

  • Excellent math skills including a working knowledge of trigonometry which includes roll dimensions and compound angles.

  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
