Founded in 1990 and based in New Richmond, WI, Isometric's vision was to manufacture tooling and provide manufacturing solutions to exacting specifications for ultra-small, ultra-precise, and ultra-complex applications. For the past 35 years, we're proud to say we've grown to be one of the largest medical-focused micro molders in the United States. In March 2024, Isometric was acquired by Nissha Medical Technologies (NMT), a global Contract Design/Development Manufacturing Organization. NMT's expertise in the design and development of endoscopic devices, combined with Isometric's micro-molding capabilities, have the potential to redefine the realm of minimally invasive surgical instruments and surgical robotics. Together, we aim to address the changing demands of medical devices by enhancing component miniaturization and improving the maneuverability of small and precision components, ultimately advancing medical efficiency.

It's an exciting time to join our team, and we're hiring for a 2nd shift Tool Maker! This role is responsible for final precision grinding and assembly of Isometric's micron precision molds and fixtures. The hours for this position are Monday-Thursday, 3:00PM-1:30AM.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze mold specifications from CAD models and blueprints to plan optimal build approach.
  • Perform the final grinding and assembly of molds ensuring proper fits and function.
  • Collaborate with the CNC, EDM and Polishing groups to ensure the componentry is manufactured to the specifications required for proper final fit, assembly, function, and attainment of molded product specifications.
  • Work with process engineering technicians to troubleshoot and optimize part molding performance and adherence to product specifications following first-off and subsequent mold tests.
  • Troubleshoot mold related problems as they occur and perform repairs and modifications necessary to ensure molds are in efficient operating condition and mold product to specification.
  • Perform mold maintenance to ensure proper function.
  • Perform work in an efficient and timely manner to ensure that customer timelines are achieved.
  • Mentor apprentice Tool Makers as directed by management.
  • Maintain proper documentation as required.
  • Comply with company quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate/Technical degree in machine tooling or similar discipline OR at least five (5) or more years of experience in high precision mold building.
  • Excellent grinding skills and ability to consistently grind to one tenth accuracy
  • In-depth problem-solving capabilities
  • Very high attention to detail is required
  • High level of integrity and ethics that aligns with Isometric Core Values.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
