  • Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Registered Nurse with care of patients by observation and recording of cardiac rhythms according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, under the supervision of the RN and within the scope of their certification
  • Accurately identifies cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Communicates any changes to the appropriate persons, and records rhythm strips every four hours, and with any change in rhythm.
  • Provides other nursing units with a summary of telemetry activity at the end of each shift.
  • Provides direct patient care and assists in required duties to assure the delivery of holistic care, patient dignity, and quality of life to each patient.
  • Contributes to the assessment of health status by collecting and recording objective and subjective data.
  • Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and timeliness.
  • Greets and acknowledges all customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School or GED.
  • Current CNA Certification in the State of Idaho.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Must complete an approved course in cardiac dysrhythmia recognition AND have satisfactory performance on a written dysrhythmia identification examination

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Prior Monitor Tech or EKG training.
