Responsibilities

ECS is hiring a Senior Project Manager in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) to lead projects from proposal through closeout, with ownership of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client experience. If you enjoy being the technical and operational point person on active construction programs, this role sits right in the middle of field execution and client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead CMT and special inspection projects from proposal and kickoff through closeout and final invoicing.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, supporting preconstruction meetings, routine coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Review and approve field reports and coordinate follow-up on technical and documentation items.
  • Oversee testing and reporting aligned with ASTM standards and CMT best practices.
  • Coordinate with lab and field teams on sampling, testing assignments, and deliverable schedules.
  • Manage project financials including budget tracking, invoicing, pay applications, and change orders.
  • Mentor and guide field staff assigned to your projects; support training and development.
  • Partner with leadership on staffing and resource planning to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

Qualifications (Must Have)

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 10 years of experience in construction materials testing (field or lab), special inspections, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience (examples: 4-year degree + 6 years' experience, or Associate degree + 8 years' experience).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of CMT principles and applications.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of construction materials testing and laboratory ASTM standards.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and teams, independently and collaboratively.
  • Leadership and sound judgment; able to work with little to no supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
