Summary:

The Audit Manager - Venture Capital is responsible for leading and managing audit engagements for venture capital firms, private equity funds, and their portfolio companies. This role serves as a trusted advisor to clients, combining deep technical audit expertise with a strong understanding of the venture capital ecosystem, including fund structures, valuation considerations, and regulatory requirements.

The Audit Manager oversees all phases of the audit lifecycle-from planning and risk assessment through execution and reporting-while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, PCAOB standards (as applicable), and firm quality standards. This individual manages and mentors audit staff, reviews workpapers and financial statements, and collaborates closely with partners and senior leadership to deliver high-quality, timely client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple teams working on client assignments and projects simultaneously
  • Teacher/mentor to staff members - help them develop strategic goals in line with department goals and manage/monitor workload
  • Contribute to conception and execution of firm initiatives
  • Contribute to business development efforts, assisting with proposals and building a network
  • Responsible for ensuring that clients understand the complete scope of their accounting, tax and business issues
  • Anticipate issues, plan for their resolution and ensure appropriate and timely execution against the engagement plan
  • Create technical memos and develop/lead training on specialized technical issues
  • Manage engagement budgets, communicate change orders
  • Identify client needs and opportunities to better serve our clients
  • Develop more efficient job processes and expanded services utilizing the talents of other Sensiba specialists

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in public accounting
  • CPA license required
  • Venture Capital and/or Private Equity experience preferred
  • Solid research capabilities to understanding advanced accounting issues
  • Strong analytical aptitude and application
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Accounting software (We use CCH products; ProSystems and FX Engagement)
  • Work closely and directly with clients
  • Supervise multiple client assignments simultaneously
  • Communicate effectively with team members
  • Develop and apply technical expertise
  • Coach and develop other professional staff

Compensation:

This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S.-based positions are determined by geographic location and fall into one of three pay zones, which reflect the cost of labor in that area. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:

  • $86,232 - $176,792

When determining compensation, we consider a variety of factors such as a candidate's professional experience, skills, and qualifications. Please note that final offer amounts may vary from the ranges listed above and may be adjusted over time.

Compensation Range: $130,000 - $160,000*
